A new perspective on the urban skyline
In the heart of Brussels, this major conversion project is breathing new life into an office building by rethinking its massing and uses. The project is set within the dense, historic fabric of the city centre, with particular attention paid to the balance between the existing building and the addition of a new roof level.
Our work focused on the stability of this elevation, the creation of a vast central patio and structural support for the creation of a light well. The 3D views reveal the precision of the work: the wood structure, light and warm, blends in with finesse, creating a fluid space where the light circulates and dialogues with the solids and voids.
At the top, the terrace offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Brussels. From the stonework to the framework, every element has been designed to ensure that solidity goes hand in hand with elegance, and that technology is used to create a place that has been rethought, soothed and turned towards the sky.
