The conversion and extension of the Ferme de l'Abbaye des Sept-Fontaines, located in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, is part of an initiative to upgrade an old agricultural site that has fallen into serious disrepair.
As part of this major renovation, permanent consolidation work was required to ensure the safety of the site and the long-term future of the structure.
The core of our stability project concerned the existing barn, and more specifically the study and reconstruction of its framework. The wooden structures were in serious disrepair: several beams had rotted away, while others had been seriously damaged or rendered unstable following a fire.
This current project illustrates the importance of a fine-tuned structural approach to the treatment of old buildings: preserving the spirit of the place while guaranteeing new stability to structures weakened by time and disaster.
