1807 - Major conversion of a house and renovation of a barn in Rhode-Saint-Genèse

Le temps retrouvé: repairing the memory of place through the stability of structuress

The project to convert and extend the Ferme de l'Abbaye des Sept-Fontaines, located in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, is part of an initiative to upgrade an old agricultural site that has fallen into serious disrepair.

As part of this major renovation, consolidation work was required to ensure the safety of the site and the long-term future of the structure. The core of our stability work focused on the existing barn, and more specifically on the study and reconstruction of its framework. The wooden structures were in serious disrepair and required the use of special techniques: several beams were rotten, others seriously damaged or unstable following a fire.

This current project illustrates the importance of a fine-tuned structural approach in the treatment of old buildings, aimed at preserving the spirit of the place while guaranteeing new stability to structures weakened by time and disasters.
