1617 - Construction of a detached villa in Daverdisse

Poetically inhabiting the landscape: a gesture that takes shape in space

The project involves the construction of a detached villa in Daverdisse. Set in an exceptional landscape, the building was conceived from the outset as an integral and organic part of it.

The architecture seeks to extend the lines of the landscape, to follow its movements and perspectives, as if in a continuous gesture that extends the space. This architectural ambition translates into great finesse at every stage of the design process: particular attention has been paid to the design of the forms and the choice of materials, in order to defend the complex spatial and symbolic requirements at the origin of the project.

In this context, the structure plays an essential role: it must support the elegance and apparent lightness of the project while guaranteeing its stability. The structural study carried out by Forme & Structure sought to give technical expression to this demanding architectural vision, in particular through the use of large spans, by looking for structural solutions capable of combining the fluidity of the spaces with the sinuosity of the lines.

This close dialogue between architecture and engineering has made it possible to preserve the fundamental intention of the project: to create a home that emerges from its environment and blends naturally with it, in a sensitive continuity between the construction, the architectural vision and the elements of the landscape.
