1359 - Conversion of a manor house into a single-family dwelling in Braine-l'Alleud

When the structure reveals the beauty of yesteryear

Long abandoned, the manor house at Mont-Saint-Pont has undergone an ambitious transformation to restore it to its former splendour. Steeped in history, the building has been converted into a single-family dwelling, combining heritage and modernity.

Our office supported this metamorphosis with a detailed study of the interior structure, in the service of a demanding architecture. The highlight of the project was the calculation of a monumental, self-supporting interior staircase, whose sculptural line is based on a technical challenge met with mastery.
This centrepiece, boldly suspended at the heart of the building, embodies the link between architectural elegance and structural precision.

A project in which engineering is discreet, the better to reveal the rediscovered beauty of a place inhabited by memory.
